Portholes

24 x 36 - Acrylic and Mixed Media on canvas - Private Collection (Kelowna, B.C.)

The story behind the work:
Another commissioned work, where the client needed an art piece to fit a colour scheme and specific space in her home.  This whimiscal contemporary piece is entitled Portholes as it is reminiscent of an ocean cruise that Jan and I took aboard the 'Pride of America'!  The 'porthole' to the left houses the bottle of wine that was confiscated as we tried to board with it in a backpack!  The right hand portal is a reflection of the liner in calm seas, something that we rarely experienced.  The remaining portholes are empty, like our pockets at the end of the voyage!
